Stage 3B - Disability Ownership Model™
You have a real direction, but there is still much to figure out.
Bandura's research on self-efficacy shows that small, designed wins - not effort and willpower - are what rebuild agency after repeated setbacks. The evidence is clear: controlled, evidence-based testing outperforms intensity-based approaches every time.
Bandura, Psychological Review 1977 | Maier & Seligman, Learned Helplessness, 1976
What building without crashing actually looks like.
You are building something real. Not in a burst that costs you two weeks of recovery - in a controlled, repeatable rhythm that your body agreed to in advance.
You ran a test last week. A small, designed experiment with a hypothesis and a defined success metric. It returned data about yourself. Real data - not a gut feeling, not enthusiasm, not a crash. A result.
You know it works because you measured it. And this week you are running the next iteration.
The project is moving. Your stability is intact. You are doing both at the same time.

Three tools. One method. Built for your parameters.
Step 1
What's Stopping You?
Like everyone, sometimes people with a disability develop beliefs about what they can and can’t do that prevent them from considering new or better options and possibilities. This is why we start with this step first. Maybe you fear judgment or failure. Or maybe you view disability as a trap, an unwanted label, or an unending mountain to climb. Every impairment, injury, or illness affects people differently. In this first step, we’ll consider how your thoughts about your disability may be holding you back. There is no cookie-cutter solution, but you’ll discover how you can shrink your inner monsters to size and take your best first step to make room for new possibilities.
Step 2
Explore A New Version Of You
A new level of ability comes with a disorienting loss that we need to process before we can get creative again. Perhaps your dexterity has changed, but there are still options to discover that can express your artistic or athletic side. The version of you that you like still exists, even if it is changing shape. In this step, we reconnect with your values and what brings you a sense of accomplishment, joy, and integrity, so that you can define a clear vision to continue growing into the person you want to be. We map the specific advantages your new lived experience gives you in this direction.
Step 3
Test Out Your Proof Loop
Map the specific advantages your lived experience gives you in this direction. This is not compensation. This is competitive analysis.
Step 4
Boost Your Resilience
We assess where your energy and resources are working and preparing you well and where it needs you. Not a problem-finding exercise. A calibration.
Step 5
Revise and Execute Your Plan
Map the specific advantages your lived experience gives you in this direction. This is not compensation. This is competitive analysis.
